Autohellas has entered into an agreement with the EIB – the long-term lending bank of the European Union established in 1958 under the Treaty of Rome – with the aim to enable Autohellas to provide advantageous lease conditions to eligible SMEs and MidCaps, namely businesses meeting, in principle, the following criteria:
They are established, operate and will invest in Greece;
They should be businesses not active in non-eligible sectors, as determined by EIB;
They are small and medium sized enterprises ("SMEs") with less than 250 employees (full-time equivalent) or they are MidCaps enterprises with minimum 250 and less than 3000 employees (full-time equivalent) worldwide.
“Non-eligible sectors” refers to sectors such as production of weapons and ammunition, arms, military or police equipment or infrastructures, and equipment or infrastructure limiting people’s individual rights and freedom, gambling, tobacco related industries, activities involving testing on animals insofar as not in compliance with the “Council of Europe’s Convention for the Protection of Vertebrate Animals used for Experimental and other Scientific Purposes” or whose environmental impact cannot be mitigated or offset, ethically or morally controversial sectors such as human cloning and pure property speculation.
